Twenty Five

A nice metaphor used by the teacher today:
“Supposed you are trying to sell a pen, and there is someone nearby that is willing to pay you 100 yen for it, but you know for sure that by the corner of the road — say 200 meters from where you are now — someone is willing to pay 2,500 yen. Which one are you going to choose? ;-)
* even the laziest person would get up and grab the MUCH bigger reward *

===========================
From sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 11, Number 620:

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Apostle said, “The reward of the prayer offered by a person in congregation is twenty five times greater than that of the prayer offered in one’s house or in the market (alone). And this is because if he performs ablution and does it perfectly and then proceeds to the mosque with the sole intention of praying, then for every step he takes towards the mosque, he is upgraded one degree in reward and his one sin is taken off (crossed out) from his accounts (of deeds). When he offers his prayer, the angels keep on asking Allah’s Blessings and Allah’s forgiveness for him as long as he is (staying) at his Musalla. They say, ‘O Allah! Bestow Your blessings upon him, be Merciful and kind to him.’ And one is regarded in prayer as long as one is waiting for the prayer.”

Further importance of doing the prayer in congegration can be found starting from sahih Muslim chapter 84.

Insya Allah

Al-Kahfi (18):23, 24

23. And never say of anything “I shall do such and such thing tomorrow”
24. Except (with the saying) “Insya Allah” (If Allah will). And remember your Lord when you forget and say: “It may be that my Lord guides me unto a nearer way of truth than this”

Grateful

May 3, 2005, 10:24 am

In the end, I consider that this is share-able here ;-) .

Be grateful of anything that has happened to me for the last one year.

  • For having a chance to know you. Either you realized it or not, ever since that day (and also before that), you are the driving force that keep me hanging on and moving forward — insya Allah — on the right track. You may not be able to imagine how much you meant to me. Thank you.
  • For having a chance to do my research here, restraining my brain to the limit — often :-p –, making me familiar with this, searching pile of papers, and then read them with half-closed eye :-P (they’re good to be used as lullaby :-D ), but this is what I want to do, and I am (still :-p) enjoying it.
  • For having such a wonderful community here, and here. I learned a lot from you all. If somehow I become a better person, it must be because of the lessons you all were teaching me.
Alhamdulillahi rabbil ‘aalamiin.

And now, let another year comes ;-) .
